Custom Cookie message is a plugin for WordPress that adds a message to the website that informs the visitor that the website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the browser for various purposes. This can be to save what you put in the shopping cart or to send traffic data to, for example, google analytics so that the website’s administrator can see statistics for how the website is used by visitors. 

Since 2011, there is a law called the “Cookie Act” which means that the visitor must consent to cookies being stored, a message is therefore needed on the website to inform the visitor that the site uses cookies and that the visitor can decide whether he wants to approve the use.

The plugin is compatible with multisites.

You can customize the cookie message that appears on the website by changing the color, text and font. This means that you can easily get the message to fit on your website.

The cookie plugin is currently under development to comply with the GDPR, which will apply from May 2018. This means that users will be able to opt-out of certain cookies being stored.
