Following hot on the heels of November’s WordCamp London, December brought the second installment of WordSesh – kind of an online WordCamp.
Organised by Scott Basgaard, Brad Williams, Dre Armeda, Christopher Cochran and Maria Scarpello, it’s 24 hours of live-streaming WordPress presentations from industry experts, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and personalities. And me 😉
At last year’s WordSesh I spoke about my experiences of becoming a successful WordPress freelancer – my journey from zoologist to WordPress entrepreneur:
This year I wanted to follow up my WordCamp London presentation with more specifics about how we can, as a community of WordPress professionals, address the three things I think will make sure WordPress changes the world for the better:
- Attract more people to WordPress
- Make WordPress better so that those using it profit more from doing so
- Increase our own capacity to produce great WordPress sites
Here’s the presentation – if you want to see the speaker’s notes, use the settings cog on the embedded player.
I’d love to hear your thoughts – ways I can improve this talk, more ideas for how we can make changes to our daily business for the profit of us, WordPress, our clients and whatever other goals we have for ourselves. Not least because I’m going to be speaking at WordCamp Norway in Jan 2014 and I’d like to make the presentation as good as possible for then.
I’ll post the video of this year’s talk here when it’s available.
– Thanks!
