Pragmatic helped support the launch and roll out of #BrightFutures last week. Bringing together the city council, local universities and local business with an ambitious project to ‘upgrade’ the entire of Brighton’s Primary school network to give children free lessons in design and invention.
The clubs will provide young people with essential technology and critical thinking skills, as well as giving them access to the latest computer hardware and online learning tools, enabling children as young at 8 to start solving local and global challenges in areas like pollution and climate change.
The programme is being run by MakerClub, who have been delivering award-winning invention and design clubs for young people since 2014.
Declan Cassidy, MakerClub’s Head of Impact stated:
“While it’s impossible to know what the future will bring, we can take a pretty good guess. We know that having a good grounding in coding will still be seen as a positive and we also know that those with creative skills will also be highly prized by employers – invention and design bring these together. By doing this in schools, we can also make sure those from low-income families in the city are not left behind. Companies like Pragmatic are helping make this dream come true for the city.”
We are super excited to be involved in this project, and can’t wait to share more updates with you!
