Stepping onto the red carpet at the Wirehive 100 Awards, we had no expectation of leaving with more than another great digital experience. Instead, we left with two trophies, the knowledge that we’d made it onto the Wirehive league table, and some very happy faces. From stunned silence on the night, to uproarious cheers from our colleagues this morning, it’s a really exciting time for Pragmatic in this forging of an ever more secure and impactful foothold in the digital world. In addition to the two awards, we also made our first appearance in the Wirehive league table, at number 14!
Pragmatic’s representatives at the awards, taking home our prizes in Fastest Growing Business, and our founder & director David Lockie, bagging Digital Champion!

I’m still in shock at last night’s results. Being in the same room as so many amazing, inspiring people is one of the reasons I do what I do. To win against that pedigree of competition was a massive surprise. I’m still processing it but what I already feel is pride and gratitude for the team that stands with me everyday making things happen. Huge thanks to the Wirehive team for putting on a great evening. Now where’s that Alka Seltzer…?

The amazing venue, glitzy decor and being surrounded by loads of industry peers added to our nervous excitement for the awards. When sat enjoying our dinner and drinks, I realised I was sat next to Wirehive’s Rob Belgrave, who also hosts one of my favourite podcasts, Alexa Stop! We were also joined by some of the Dotmailer and Blue Frontier teams who ensured we had a lot of laughs.
When Pragmatic was named not once, but twice for an award, I actually jumped out of my seat and looked across at David’s genuinely shocked face. I think he thought I had got it wrong when I was screaming “YES!” at him! We partied on and received so many words of support after the main ceremony was over, a brilliant event all round.

It was exciting enough to just be nominated for the Wirehive 100 awards, let alone to win both of the categories we were up for! My favourite moment of the night was Dave’s face when his name was announced for Digital Champion. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone in so much shock! And as for being recognised for fastest growth… this probably shouldn’t have come as such a shock to us! When I first met Pragmatic around 4 years ago, they were a team of 2. When I joined just over a year ago, we were a team of 25. Now there are over 50 of us! It’s been really amazing to see Pragmatic go from strength to strength, and I’m really happy to be a part of it.

This year’s event was my first (and hopefully first of many) Wirehive 100. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect but from the moment I saw the “Wirehive 100” literally up in lights, I knew that it wasn’t going to be a mundane evening.
The evening started with a red carpet entrance to a champagne reception. After some light networking, the main venue was revealed to us and it certainly lived up to the Hollywood glamour theme.
Robert Belgrave was first to the stage to welcome everyone to the awards and then introduced our host for the evening, Alun Cochrane who was on top form. Dinner was served shortly after and then the awards began.
To be honest, given the talent of the competition, I hadn’t really gone in with any expectations. Winning both awards that we were nominated for was an honour and I couldn’t be prouder to work with the people I do.
Here are the official videos of our winning moments… keep an eye out for some seriously shocked faces, and prepare for some very loud cheering!
