Hello all readers!
Since the end of March, until the end of May, I have been working in the office together with Jimmy and the Kafit guys. It has been an internship for me and now I thought I would tell you about how it has been.
I can start by telling you a little about myself. Sanna Thyr, 22 years old and from Norrköping. In my spare time I’m a real GeekGirl…I play all kinds of games and blog on Sanzil.se.
2 years ago, in 2009, I started studying at the Technical University in Jönköping. The programme was Graphic Design and Web Development. There I got to try a lot in the areas but chose to focus on the graphic.
After 1.5 years, it was time for 8 weeks of internship. I knew right away what I wanted to do, which was web design. That’s the big dream, to become an awesome web designer!
I used the best we have on the internet, namely Google and googled web agency. I checked out a lot of different websites and got in touch with Jimmy.
We had a meeting and it was at AngryCreative I came to have my internship.
My tasks have been to make websites and now I will show a little what I have done, I thought …
Assignment 1 -PDFmallar.se
My first assignment was PDFmallar.se.
What I had to do was to code the page based on an already finished design. I used HTML5 and CSS3, which was new to me, but I liked it and learnt a lot from that assignment. It was a good start for me as all my previous knowledge came from being self-taught, which is not always right of course.
Assignment 2 – Communicavi.se
The next assignment was to develop a completely new site based on a customer’s brief.
I had to do everything from design to coding.
This was not done in HTML5 or CSS3 so now I had to learn a lot of basics.
Furthermore, the page was made for Wordpress. It was completely new to me and then some PHP also crept in. I have learnt to understand some of it but still have a lot to work on.
We used WordPress as CMS (Content Management System). Please visit the site at http://www.communicavi.se
This assignment was very exciting and I was soooo nervous to show the client what I had worked out. However, I got a great response and the result was really good 🙂
It has been so much fun and I don’t think I could have had a much better internship. Since Jimmy works a lot himself, I have had my own private teacher, and how much better can it get than that? I have really learnt a lot. Both in terms of design and coding. But especially the coding, which is what I needed and need to work on the most.
Now after the internship I have graduated and it will be to help Jimmy as best I can at the company and develop my programming skills so that I can help him fully in the future, which of course I want!
If I haven’t scared Jimmy away from internships by now, I really recommend interning at Angry Creative. He takes his time and helps and is very good at explaining and answering your questions.
I really have nothing negative to say about my internship. It has been so great 🙂
Thank you Jimmy, the best in the world!
