Hi, my name is Max Bergström. Usually I study Graphic Design and Communication at the university in Norrköping, but for the next six weeks the schedule looks a little different. I have an internship here at Angry Creative.
I have been interested in web design for a very long time. Back when I was 14, I self-appointedly took on the task of designing (although it wasn’t much of a design) and coding the website for my floorball team. Unfortunately, school, sports and other interests were big time thieves at that time and I almost lost the hobby of web design completely. But then, in the first year of high school, I took a course called Web Design A. A course that opened my eyes to CSS (Hallelujah!) and reignited my interest in the web. Since then, whenever I’ve had time, I’ve tried to learn a lot of exciting things and, above all, tried to keep up with developments in the web world.
The most significant development for me has been the move from static HTML to dynamic programming languages and CMS. Wordpress is and will probably be my personal challenge for a long time to come. Trying to find new uses for something that started as a simple blogging tool is really fun and exciting. I have often tried to get my head round it, with varying degrees of success.
Unfortunately, the university and surrounding commitments eat up a lot of hours in the day. This makes it difficult to thoroughly learn everything. Now, however, I took the opportunity to let school be about Wordpress and web design. We are studying a course called Professional Conditions with Workplace Placement, which in reality means an internship in almost any place. Angry Creative has had interns from GDK before. That’s how I found out about them and sent an email almost immediately. I got my internship and now I’m here to learn all about how Wordpress, Scrum, Kanban, Basecamp and lots of other fun stuff works in real life.
But now it’s Friday and time to go home, have a nice weekend!
Peace!
