How Djerf Avenue uses Qala Single Stock with WooCommerce to solve their multisite problems

Running an e-commerce business with multiple markets is anything but easy. Not only do images and product texts have to match, but also product information and stock numbers have to be synchronised. This is something that takes up unnecessary resources for companies in many markets.

Djerf Avenue is one of the customers who have experienced this. They are one of Sweden’s fastest growing e-retailers. The administration of new products and replenishment of old ones has taken a long time and has been perceived as more complex than it needs to be. They currently have 6 different markets and a rolling flow of new products, which means that a lot of time is spent on synchronisation between markets and products.

Djerf Avenue is one of the customers we find it extra exciting to work with as we are constantly evolving and forced to find new creative solutions to solve problems during their journey. Therefore, we sat down with Djerf Avenue and looked at how we would facilitate the process and where the biggest problems lay.

WooCommerce does a good job of managing inventory counts at the single site level but currently there is no support for managing an inventory count displayed on multiple sites. The plugins you can use solve multi-site with very limited support.

Qala Single Stock

It creates problems with overselling products when it doesn’t sync fast enough. The customer experience and the brand can be damaged in the long run. There are several solutions on the market but there is currently none that can handle the high traffic that Qala Single Stock, it is designed for just that.

Djerf Avenue has continuous releases of products that generate high traffic, so they have many orders per minute, which means that synchronisation between the different sites is extremely important in order not to oversell. With Qala Single Stock, they can manage the stock status of all sites in an economical, efficient and flexible way.

Qala Single Stock is based on each product or variation on the site having two new components. These are tied together with the product SKU to synchronise. Each product belongs to a sync group. The combination of SKU and sync group ID creates a unique combination in the database that manages stock status. This way, the same site can have multiple products in different sync groups, where the stock count for that SKU value is synchronised across all sites.

It also works to reduce/remove overselling in the form of reserving the item when the customer puts it in the shopping basket and keeping it reserved until the customer has completed payment or if the customer chooses to leave the site, possibly if payment is not approved.

We see that this addition will facilitate many of our customers with multisites and the function will also be implemented in Qala shortly.
