Does the “Initial Build Price” for Qala include a child-theme? How much customisation in terms of design/branding do they get?

Yes. The way your unique Qala site is set up is that you’ll have your own child theme, which uses our
Qala theme as its parent. By doing so we ensure that we can ship new features, bug fixes etc.
directly to your site by simply updating the parent theme as we improve it.
The initial build includes a style guide design by our designer which is implemented by our
developers. This roughly consists of Logo, colours, typography, button design and overall branding.
Since content is mostly created with the Block builder (Gutenberg) using your branding you’ll be
limitless in creating unique layouts on top of that.

The Qala Design Principle is a combination of blocks and patterns. Patterns are two or more blocks put together to form a new block, or section. Each block, pattern and section are fully editable with your own content. A Page is made up of multiple blocks, patterns and sections. Part of Qala Core we have some preset patterns available for use as part of your design. These patterns were created in line with modern design principles and aim to promote your most important content.

Qala Core also supports three different grid systems. The website grid is a system for organising the content on the page and creating alignment and order. It forms the basic structure or skeleton of your user interface. We offer the full width, wide and narrow grids. This means that depending on your branding we can select the most suited grid system to support your look and feel.
