Bonnet

A digital e-commerce platform that went from fragmented to focused

E-commerce, Marketing

Bonnet is a Nordic reseller of equipment and supplies for agriculture and machinery, selling directly to end customers in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The company operates its supplier network and uses a central business system (ERP) from the same supplier as its sister company, Nordfarm.

To scale into new markets and manage a broad assortment without growing the internal team, Bonnet needed a platform that could streamline product handling, support localised content, and align with internal processes. That’s where we came in.

From disconnected tools to connected operations

We began by building a structured integration layer between Bonnet’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and the e-commerce frontend. Previously, product content was handled manually in separate systems across markets, with no central logic for data, structure or language handling.

The new API, developed by us for use across multiple clients, enables real-time syncing of product records, including version control and mapping of all relevant data fields. When Bonnet adds new products in the ERP, our API sends them directly to Pimcore and the online store.

This integration has become the backbone of Bonnet’s product management workflow, enabling consistent data handling across countries without increasing workload.

A tailored solution built on Qala

We built Bonnet’s new storefront using Qala, our modular e-commerce solution built on WordPress and WooCommerce. Qala includes thousands of hours of pre-built functionality, including fast filtering, multi-language and multi-currency handling, performance optimisation, and structured theming.

We configured Qala specifically for Bonnet’s needs, including support for custom product groupings, variant logic, and language-localised views. Because Qala is in continuous development and used across a wide range of implementations, Bonnet benefits from a foundation already in use across other deployments, making it more predictable and efficient to extend.

Combined with the ERP integration, Qala gives Bonnet complete control over how products are displayed, updated and managed, without the need for custom builds or external plugins.

Central content handling with Pimcore and AI

To manage product information efficiently, we implemented a Pimcore-based Product Information Management (PIM) system. When Bonnet enters a new product into the ERP, our system automatically imports it into Pimcore as a draft.

Using pre-defined AI prompt sequences, Bonnet can generate structured product descriptions, metadata and translations directly within the system. Editors refine content in Pimcore without any need for manual HTML editing or third-party tools.
This setup drastically reduces the time spent on content creation, improves consistency across markets, and allows the team to enhance and localise product information as needed continuously.

Built for daily work, and for what comes next

Our combined delivery, Qala, Pimcore, and ERP integration now support Bonnet’s daily work. The team can launch new products more quickly, manage updates centrally, and expand into new markets through configuration rather than development.

The platform handles routine tasks reliably, allowing the team to focus on growing sales and adapting product offerings. New features can be rolled out as needed, without interrupting existing workflows.

Because the technical architecture is modular and reusable, Bonnet also benefits from a setup that’s built to last and built to scale.

Summary

The platform supports Bonnet’s daily operations across Sweden, Norway and Denmark, streamlining product and content workflows through a central ERP, Qala storefront and Pimcore integration. With a scalable architecture, built-in automation and localisation features, Bonnet can manage a broad assortment without increasing internal workload. The setup is designed to evolve with the business, enabling fast expansion into new markets through configuration rather than development.
